Banff Summit Tickets is an independent planning guide, not affiliated with any lift or attraction operator. We do not sell tickets and never process payments.
1. Who we are
The person responsible for this website is Doug McAllister, publishing as Banff Summit Tickets.
P.O. Box 1284, Banff, AB T1L 1A8, Canada
Email: [email protected]
There is no separate privacy officer. Doug handles requests himself. This policy is written under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act.
2. If you came from an advertisement
If you arrived here from an advertisement, you are still on an independent planning guide. The ad did not make this site a ticket desk, a payment page, or the operator. We still do not collect payment-card numbers. We still do not sell tickets. The same rules on this page apply whether you typed the address or followed a sponsored link.
Advertising networks that showed you a link are not under our control. Their own policies apply to how they selected the ad. Once you are on this host, we do not run advertising pixels, analytics suites, or social-network tags on these pages.
3. What this site is not
These pages are field notes and planning remarks. They are not official visitor information. They are not an offer of admission. If you need a reservation, opening hours, or a complaint about a cabin or a restaurant, you deal with the operator on their own channels. We cannot see their records and we cannot change them.
4. Personal data we collect
We collect as little as the site can run on.
- Contact form. Name, email address, message, and the time of sending — so a reply is possible. Do not send payment-card numbers, copies of tickets, or government identification. We do not ask for them.
- Server logs. IP address, browser type, date and time, and the path requested. Ordinary hosting logs, used to keep the machine up and to look at abuse. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
- Cookies. Described in the Cookie Policy. We do not run advertising, analytics, or social-network pixels on this guide.
We do not keep a newsletter list. We do not create reader accounts. We do not collect payment data because there is no checkout.
5. Why we collect it
- Contact-form data: your consent when you press send, for correspondence.
- Server logs: the reasonable purpose of operating and securing a public website.
- Strictly necessary cookies, if the host sets one: to deliver the page you asked for.
We do not use personal information for marketing, profiling, automated decision-making, or sale.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not pass contact-form messages to any lift or attraction operator.
The site is hosted on a virtual server. The hosting provider processes technical data as a service provider, only to keep the machine running. If a lawful order from a Canadian court or an authorised agency requires disclosure, we will disclose only what the order requires.
7. Storage and retention
Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful for a reply or a short record — ordinarily not more than twenty-four months, unless a message is needed longer to handle a complaint about the site itself. Server logs follow ordinary host rotation (weeks, not years). We then delete or anonymise what we no longer need.
8. Transfers
We do not operate a chain of marketing vendors. Hosting and DNS may use infrastructure outside Alberta (for example a content-delivery network in front of the origin). That is for delivery of public pages, not for trading your details.
9. Your rights
Subject to PIPEDA, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, to see it, to correct it, and to withdraw consent for us to keep a contact-form message (we will then delete it unless we must retain it for a legal claim). You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and, where Alberta’s PIPA applies, to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Write to [email protected] from the same address you used on the form, or use the contact page. We aim to respond within thirty days.
10. Children
This guide is written for adults planning a day. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent believes a child has sent a message, write and we will delete it.
11. Security
The public site is served over HTTPS. Correspondence sits on the server with ordinary access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure. We do not ask for identity documents or payment details, and you should not send them.
12. Third-party sites
Links to maps, search engines, or an operator’s own website are convenience. Those sites have their own policies. We are not responsible for them. Banff Summit Tickets is an independent planning guide, not affiliated with any lift or attraction operator. We do not sell tickets and never process payments.
13. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you have read the new version.
